The Falls Village Inn

Built more than 175 years ago and listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the Falls Village Inn was restored in 2010 with celebrated New York interior designer Bunny Williams (a Falls Village resident) overseeing the design and decoration. The five guest rooms are a perfect combination of simple sophistication and comfort. A friendly atmosphere, cozy rooms, and delightful food and drink, it’s where the action is.

The Golden Button

The Golden Button Arts & Craft Studio is for people of all ages. From painting nights for adults (with cocktails and snacks) to children’s birthday parties, machine sewing classes, crochet, hand sewing, woodland arts, needle felting, and even family art nights, there’s something for everyone. The founder, Kate Gorham, is a painter and crafter, herself, working in many different mediums from paint to fibers. Kate always welcomes you with a smile, is very creative, and really fantastic with kids and adults. As a teaching artist, she passes on her passion and experience to her students inspiring them to create and enjoy the process. See our article on the studio here.

Whiting Mills

Opened in 2004, the Whiting Mills building is home to a variety of artists, craftspeople, retail shops, small manufacturing companies, and a center for artistic, community, and social events. It’s a great place to meet artists. You can commission unique pieces in a wide variety of media including furniture, drapes, weaving, jewelry, pottery, photography, paintings and original art. Check their web site for open studios, demonstrations, and other events.

Harris Hill Farm

Harris Hill Farm is located just off of Route 109, with beautiful views. They sell pumpkins on Saturdays and Sundays during the month of October. You can pick your own.

John’s Café

A bistro-style dining experience featuring New American dishes with an Italian flair. They work closely with local farmers. There is a private room for gatherings, a covered patio for outdoor dining, a full bar, and take-out is available, as well as catering and a food truck for off premise events.

Thorncrest Farm and Milk House Chocolates

At Thorncrest Farm and Milk House Chocolates, Kimberly and Clint Thorn feed their cows the finest, sweetest hay and natural feed resulting in their signature cream milk and delicious artisanal chocolates, Milk House Chocolates. Made with fresh local orchard fruits, garden herbs, and honey. They also offer cheesemaking classes. Going to their barn to pick up some vanilla milk, chocolates for your hostess, and a quick tour of the barn to say hello to the cows is always a treat!

Katherine M. Elfers Hall, Esther Eastman Music Center

The performing arts hall of The Hotchkiss School was designed by and completed in 2005. With views of Lakeville’s Lake Wononscupomuc, the hall is home to the Hotchkiss Concert Series, hosting free classical concerts September through May. Guest artists have included The Fine Arts Quartet, Amerigo Trio, Nordic Voices, The Hartt Symphony Orchestra, and Midori. The hall is also home to Hotchkiss Summer Portals concerts, once again free and open to the public during June and July. Past guests have included Melvin Chen, Miró Quartet, Brentano Quartet, Ida Kavafian, and the Ying Quartet. This is a fabulous venue and the concerts are spectacular.
