Their lovely 10,000 square-foot store, showroom, and workroom is located on Holley Street, a small street just off of Route 44, also known as Main Street (or Millerton Road) in Lakeville. Sundays since 1976 (April–November), treasure hunters, antique collectors, farmers, foodies, and alike have flocked to the famous Elephant’s Trunk Flea Market. The verdant field is given over to dealers hawking everything from vintage tchotchkes and house plants to cottage furniture, military memorabilia and old signs. Steven Monteiro is a commercial airline pilot but in his free time is also the sole owner and operator of Salvaged Woodworks, LLC. He salvages trees that have fallen or been cut down in local towns and uses the wood to create different sustainable goods, namely, charcuterie boards and serving platters, live edge tables and benches, bottle openers, wine stoppers, coasters and other similar items.
