Hilljack Sugar Shack

Hilljack Sugar Shack is open 7 days a week, 8am-6pm. There are extended hours for sugaring season. Visitors are encouraged to stop by anytime. Free tours of facilities. School groups welcome. For tours larger than 7, please call ahead to schedule.

Litchfield Community Center

This community center is a great gathering place for creative, intellectual and recreational pursuits. Yoga, zumba fitness, movies, painting classes, Tai Chi, bridge, Bingo, dance, writing classes, and so much more. Check out their website for events and classes.

Litchfield Garden Club

Inspired by the founding of the Garden Club of America, nine Litchfield women founded the Litchfield Garden Club in September of 1913. The club offers a variety of educational and informative programs to the public, such as open public meetings on floral design and horticulture, and highlighting the club’s long tradition of contributions to the community in civic beautification, projects and conservation education.

Nestled in the Litchfield Hills, Topsmead State Forest remains a precious piece of a past era with fine craftsmanship and understated wealth evident throughout the former summer estate of Miss Edith Morton Chase.

Mount Tom Tower

Located on Mount Tom is a 34-foot stone tower. A hike up to the top of the Mount Tom Tower yields a 360-degree view of the surrounding area and distant landmarks. The original structure was made of wood and in 1921 was rebuilt using stone.
