Litchfield County: Happening in the Hills

Warner Theatre

Built as a first-run movie palace by Warner Bros. Studios, this elaborate art-deco building was designed by architect Thomas W. Lamb.  Seating 1,772 patrons, the Warner was a stunning example of state-of-the-art technology and lush, elegant surroundings.

The theatre was purchased by the Northwest Connecticut Association for the Arts, helping the structure to evade demolition. The theatre then re-opened on May 22, 1983. Today, the Warner Theatre is the largest performing arts center in Northwest Connecticut – over 100,000 patrons attended 200+ public events last season.  These included concerts, professional touring theatre/dance, movies, opera simulcast, community theatre, debates, dance recitals, high school graduations and dance competitions.
