Join us for an afternoon of family fun!
1pm – 5pm
This year’s celebration will be especially meaningful as we cut the ribbon on our brand-new playground, dedicated in honor of school founder, Mary Loyer and her husband Dr. Richard Loyer.
The festival will feature live music by Sweeter Than Wine, delicious food from Hindsight BBQ, pumpkin decorating, face painting, farm animals, a bake sale, games for all ages, and a touch-a-truck experience with the Northfield Fire Company.
Families are also invited to tour our classrooms during an open house and learn more about the Montessori approach. Admission is free and open to the public; alumni, families, and friends are warmly encouraged to bring guests and share in this joyful community tradition.

4 Strategies for a Smarter College Search.
The college search continues to become more complex, making it harder for families to identify right-fit schools. Challenges include:
-Admission trends and how colleges admit students
-Recently passed tax legislation impacts use of529 plans and student loans
-ACT/SAT Testing – some require it now, and some don’t – what path makes sense?
-The number of schools on the “more selective” list continues to grow
-changes to the FAFSA, Dept of Education, and financial aid may make college more expensive
Join us online for an insightful session with national college specialist Cozy Wittman from College Inside Track. Discover how recent changes may affect your family and explore new strategies to help your student maximize admissions opportunities, scholarships, and financial aid.

The Judy Black Memorial Park and Gardens is pleased to welcome back artist Patricia Avellan for her second exhibition at the park, “Process,” on view beginning Saturday, October 25.
An opening reception will be held on Saturday, October 25 from 2 to 4 p.m. This event is free and open to the public.
Since Avellan’s first exhibition at the park in 2017, her lines have unfolded into new moods, new freedoms—a journey still in motion. For her, the line is never fixed. It does not delimit; it connects. It meanders, returns, evolves. “Process” affirms that nothing in art—or life—is static. Every line has its own form, its own light, its own existence. And like life itself, each line carries its own solitude, its own tender sadness.
This show will remain on view through Sunday, November 16. Check our social media for weekly open hours: @judyblackpark on Instagram and Facebook.
