Rekindle your creative fire! Poets of all levels, from beginner to advanced, come together to read, write, and recite. During this weekend intensive, we will explore three new strategies for poetry: motion, shift, & contrast. Seeking inspiration in the poetry of Rilke, Machado, Longfellow, Dickinson, and others, we’ll view their work as springboards or launchpads into our own creativity. Join us for a weekend workshop in which we experiment with applying these strategies to our own writing. Bring pencils & notebooks. Poems will be provided. Enjoy opportunities to nurture your inner Muse!

Will run June 6 and 7 at 8pm and on June 8 at 3pm, followed by a talkback/Q&A with Civil War experts.
In 1863, when handwritten letters carried news of hope or despair, a correspondence began between two young Goshen residents whose relationship blossomed in the shadow of the Civil War. Missed opportunities, unreliable mail, and the ever-present threat of tragedy shape the deeply moving true story revealed in their letters, proving human connection transcends all adversity.
Please join us for an afternoon of A Cappella at The Silo featuring UConn’s own Notes Over Storrs! This incredible group will perform songs from their newest sets including their upcoming album!! Tickets $45 all proceeds to benefit these students!

Merryall Center is now accepting submissions, through June 30, 2025, for Expressing Motherhood.
Expressing Motherhood is a gathering of voices and stories all about the journey of motherhood. Since 2008 #ExMoShow has showcased women (and men) sharing their personal stories on stage. Initially created and produced in Los Angeles by “two moms who had never done anything like it before.” Since, Expressing Motherhood has been taken on the road to an Off-Off-Broadway theater in New York City and to numerous other cities from Boston to Tacoma.
The Merryall Center is thrilled to be its next stop in bringing these stories to our stage for our Litchfield County community. It’s an opportunity to share with one another in spoken word, monologue, skit, or song all the nuances and experiences that are forever attached to motherhood.
Your weekly guide to can't-miss events, hidden gems, and local favorites in Litchfield County.
