Summer Reading Festival

On Saturday, June 21st from 11 am – 1 pm, join us for the Summer Reading Festival at the Goshen Public Library. Charlie and the Bubble Factory will create giant bubbles for your entertainment. The Friends of the Goshen Library will be hosting a summer book sale and there will be multiple stations set up to create your own sand art, friendship bracelets and more. Enjoy popcorn and snacks on the green as we share the summer reading treasure maps. This fun and free event kicks off our summer reading program.

David Shrigley “Good Vibes”

Craven Contemporary is excited to announce the opening of its next show David Shrigley “Good Vibes” on Saturday May 10th running through Sunday July 13th. The show comprises a curated selection of prints by the artist all sharing a ‘feel good’ factor.

Internationally renowned Shrigley (born 1968) is a British visual artist living and working in Brighton, England. His work is interspersed with witty observations and commentary that satirizes everyday life and awkward interactions. He attended the Glasgow School of Art and was nominated for the prestigious Turner Prize Award in 2013 following a major mid-career retrospective at the Hayward Gallery in London. His work is in many private collections as well as museums including the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Hammer Museum in Los Angeles and the National Galleries of Scotland in Edinburgh.

Shrigley’s work has previously been shown at Craven Contemporary in “Wordsmiths” in June 2020, “In Conversation With David Shrigley” in December 2021 and “The Animals” in April 2024.

Art Show Opening Reception

The Judy Black Memorial Park and Gardens is pleased to present Just Passing Through, an art exhibition by Brooke Hirsheimer, on view beginning Friday, June 6.

An opening reception will be held at the park on Saturday, June 7, from 3 to 5 p.m. The public is invited to attend.

Brooke Hirsheimer is a contemporary mixed media artist whose work explores the whimsical and grounding relationship between humans and the natural world. Her playful yet introspective style combines color and abstraction, reminding us that we’re all here navigating a beautiful and wild planet.
