Max Ansbacher Book Signing

The Hickory Stick Bookshop is delighted to welcome author and happiness counselor, Max Ansbacher, to the store on Sunday July 20th at 2.00 pm. Max will be signing copies of his latest book “A Practical Guide to Happiness”.

ABOUT THE BOOK

“A Practical Guide to Happiness” shows you how to bring optimism, confidence and self-esteem into your life. Happiness is a subject that appeals to everyone. People want to know how to attain it, how to maintain it and how to enhance their current level of fulfillment.

In the book, Max maps out the three keys to finding happiness. It’s not magic, it’s common sense.

• Want What You Have
• Be True to Your Own Values
• Nurture Your Friendships

The last golden rule to being happy, to treasure friendships, is one of the most important. The gold standard of research is the 85-year-old Harvard Longitudinal Study on Adult Development which established a strong correlation between the number of deep relationships you have with how happy you are. In his book, Max reveals how to nurture your strong friendships further with expressions of gratitude. Additionally, there are insights into how you can expand your circle of friends to include different categories of people. Harvard’s findings, along with his own, informed his conclusions, which have resonated with readers and lecture attendees.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Max Ansbacher realizes that many people struggle to be happy and assume it is not achievable. Despite considerable success in his business, semi-retired hedge fund manager Max had always been haunted by feelings of failure. He decided to do something about it and read every book he could find on the science of happiness. Max studied himself, his friends who were happy, and because of his research and observations, became a ‘Happiness Coach.’ He realized he deserved to be happy and was able to emerge from a very dark place.

In writing his book, Max’s background in finance and his pragmatic personality enabled him to approach the subject of happiness in a different way. On Wall Street, everything is very precise and measured. If you buy stock, it either goes up or down and so that is how you gauge your results and success. Max took that type of thinking into studying the art of happiness. The science-backed tips and his personal experiences set his book, ‘A Practical Guide to Happiness’, apart. Max discovered that it is important to tend to your emotional health and happiness and nurture it every day. A happiness coach can be just as essential as a personal trainer at the gym.

PRAISE FOR THE BOOK

“Max’s book is a treasure trove of wisdom and practical advice, garnered from his varied experiences and extraordinary life. Everyone walked away feeling happy and ready to apply his tools into their lives. Max enlightened us with his unique perspective which he presented eloquently”. – Melanie Cabot, Founder, Happiness Club Palm Beach
