Exhibit Opening Celebration

The Litchfield Historical Society is excited to announce the opening of two new exhibits commemorating America’s 250th anniversary on Friday, April 17th at 6:00 pm.

Legends and Lore: Reconsidering Perspectives of the American Revolution examines well-known stories of actions taken during the American Revolution and how these tales shape our understanding of the fight for independence.

In One People: Portraits of the Early Republic, come face-to-face with some of the biggest names in America’s revolutionary past alongside less frequently painted figures, and those who were never portrayed in their lifetime.

The public is invited to the opening of the exhibits on Friday, April 17th at 6:00 p.m. at the Litchfield History Museum (7 South Street, Litchfield, CT). Cocktails and hors d’oeuvres will be served. Both exhibits will be on display until November 29, 2026. The museum is open Wednesday-Sunday from 11:00-5:00 with free admission courtesy of Arthur J. Gallagher Risk Management Services LLC.
