Classical Music Festival
The Washington Friends of Music 2024 Classical Music Festival will be held on Fridays at 5:30 p.m. on August 16, 23, 30, and September 6.
Artistic Director and world-class cellist Wendy Sutter will present a varied program spanning baroque and classical periods to the 20th century with a stellar cast of musicians, prominent soloists, and principal players, including members of the New York Philharmonic, Metropolitan Opera Orchestra, and the NYC Ballet Orchestra, who perform in the US and internationally. The unique concert series is exclusively designed for this festival, featuring Bach, Mozart, Schubert, Dvorak, Mendelssohn, and other fine composers.
After the performances the audience is invited to meet the artists and enjoy bubbly and snacks.
The concerts by WFM, a non-profit charitable organization, are made possible in part by the Northwest CT Community Foundation and the Connecticut Department of Economic and Community Development, Office of the Arts, which also receives support from the National Endowment for the Arts, a Federal Agency.
Details and tickets on the WFM website. Tickets can also be purchased at the Hickory Stick Bookshop in Washington Depot and at County Wine and Spirits in New Preston. Children and students are welcome free of charge.
