Come join the Rev. Dr. Mark Francisco Bozzuti-Jones as he reflects on Spirituals and Justice. Relying heavily on the book, “Face to the Rising Sun: Reflections on Spirituals and Justice” we will meditate on the words and messages of the Spirituals and how they call us to live in solidarity and work for justice and peace. Come learn, sing, and commit to being a drum-major for justice. “These Spirituals can serve as part of a covenant that we enter into with one another to stand up for justice and peace, eradicate racism, seek justice and peace, practice reconciliation, and give voice to words that further announce the reign of God’s love. In truth, we are called to live and sing these Spirituals and our own Spirituals for Today.”
