The Hickory Stick Bookshop welcomes Sebastian Tillinger, who will be talking about his new book, “How the Ferris Wheel Was Broken”, with Mary Beth Lawlor, publisher and editor-in-chief of Litchfield Magazine, on Sunday, July 26th at 3 pm. The talk will be followed by a book signing.

ABOUT THE BOOK

An intimate chronicle of a pivotal year in Sebastian Tillinger’s life and the world: 1999. Written when he was 25, the book serves as a time capsule of the months leading up to Y2K, when headlines warned of the coming cyber apocalypse. On a personal level, it’s a memoir of a young man in existential crisis, set against the backdrop of Hollywood as he tries to find work as an actor, navigates love, ponders purpose, and reflects on choices.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Sebastian Tillinger is an artist, writer, actor, musician, and painter. Born in Connecticut, he grew up in the New York drama scene around hundreds of brilliant actors, writers, set designers, producers, and directors, including his father, Broadway theater director John Tillinger, and his mother, actress, director, and writer Dorothy Lyman. He spent twenty years living and working in Los Angeles. After the birth of his daughter, he moved back to Connecticut, where he currently lives with his family.
