Roxbury Church Classic Christmas Celebration
Christmas and New England have long been synonymous in the minds and hearts of those whose idea of a perfect holiday evokes images of gabled churches, holly-strewn gazebos and tinkling bells. The Roxbury Congregational Church will be doing its best to bring that fantasy to life on Sunday, December 10, 2023 beginning at 5:00 p.m. The Olde Tyme Christmas service, complete with a church adorned with evergreen, seasonal ribbons and lights, recalls a slower pace of yesteryear and as we are reminded of the wonder of this season. The church’s minister, the Rev. David Peters, put it this way, ”It’s really a step back in time,” he said. “People come in to this beautifully adorned church with lit candles and memories flood back. The celebration includes classic carols and the story of Christmas being told. It’s a way to remind people of the meaning of Christmas.”
The Olde Tyme Christmas Celebration is open to the public of all ages and will feature a carolers singing seasonal favorites. The celebration lasts approximately forty minutes and includes scripture, song, a story for children, and prayer
A reception follows.
