Poetry & Music Play!

On Sunday, April 28th at 2 pm at Noble Horizons, Grumbling Gryphons will perform their new musical and interactive, theatrical production: “Hold Fast to Dreams: From Page to Stage!” This is a delightful dramatization of poems in honor of Earth Day. Selected poems by Langston Hughes, Lewis Carroll, Edward Lear, E.E. Cummings, Robert Frost and more are sure to delight audiences of all ages, from youngsters through seniors! This production was conceived & directed by Leslie Elias . In 2023, Ms Elias received the 2023 Connecticut Artist Fellowship Award to create new work. These performances feature a new direction in her work, combining music, poetry and environmental themes.
Masks & Costumes are created by Ellen Moon who will perform in the finale as The Golden Lady, a larger- than-life earth goddess puppet who will dance and interact with the audience! Performers include actors Daniel Saed, Natalie Resto, Leslie Elias and Katherine Almquist with student Stephany Quezada portraying various dramatic roles. This production features Joseph Sobol, a renowned musician and storyteller who will perform with the ensemble his own original musical settings of some of the world’s best-loved poems!
