Deep Rivers, Deep Souls: African-American Poetry

Presented by Robert F. Piazza

Rekindle your creative fire! Poets of all levels, from beginner to advanced, come together to read, write, and recite. February is Black History Month, and the work of African-American poets is powerful and inspiring. Langston Hughes, poet of the Harlem Renaissance, said “My soul has grown deep like the rivers.” In this workshop, we will immerse ourselves in poems by Langston Hughes, Robert Hayden, Gwendolyn Brooks, Maya Angelou, and Reginald Dwayne Betts, among others, using their work as springboards to our own creativity. Bring your own pens, pencils, paper, notebooks. Poems will be provided. Enjoy this opportunity to nurture your inner Muse!

Cost is $35 | Lunch Included
