CT DEEP Program: Geology
Presented in partnership with the Education and Outreach Division of Connecticut State Parks, this special series brings naturalist-led environmental and science programs directly to the community. Designed for children entering kindergarten through 5th grade, each session offers a fun and educational way to connect with the natural world.
Each program runs approximately one hour and is led by experienced naturalists who make science hands-on, interactive, and exciting for young learners.
This week’s theme is geology!
This geology program teaches guests about how the land around them formed. Through the use of maps and local rock samples, guests will determine what types of rocks we can find under our feet, as well as how these different types of rocks may have formed. During this walk through time, guests will also get a glimpse at some of the life of Connecticut’s deep history, including dinosaurs.
Space is limited. Registration required.
