ASAP! Presents The 10th Annual Celebration Of Young Photographers

Photography Guidelines:

Students in grades 6-12, including homeschooled students, are invited to submit up to 2 photographs based on this year’s theme, Quarantined.

As you might imagine, ASAP!’s Quarantined theme was selected to inspire students to focus on images that represent their unique perspective on this unprecedented time in our world, and frame how they feel about the changes that have been forced upon them to experience. We hope students will use the summer to capture images that reflect family, identity, politics, community, environment, landscape, friendship, or anything else that is relevant to them.

A panel of judges made up of professional artists/photographers will jury the show. In addition to an online exhibition of the selected photographs, a public exhibition is tentatively planned for Sunday, November 15, 2020 at 2:00 pm at Bryan Memorial Town Hall in Washington Depot. The top four photographers will be given special recognition through the 2020 Dylan’s Wings Photography Award. Named for Dylan Hockley, https://www.dylanswingsofchange.org/

The deadline for submissions is October 1, 2020. More details about submissions, prizes, and opportunities will be announced in the Fall. Guidelines for the event may be found by visiting asap.org/celebration-of-young-photographers. ASAP! is looking forward to experiencing the creativity and imagination you put into capturing your images this summer!

ASAP! is a social profit arts organization that reaches 9,000+ children and adults a year throughout Connecticut. Their mission is to foster creative, hands-on learning through the arts: ASAP!
