Artist Talk with Amber Maida

Please join us for an artist talk on Saturday, October 2nd, 2021 at 1pm at the Souterrain Gallery 413 Sharon Goshen Tnpk./ Route 128, West Cornwall, CT.

“Oubliette,” a solo art exhibit featuring contemporary mixed media paintings and sculptures created by artist, Amber Maida of Warren, CT will be on view and discussed then.

These primarily abstract artworks give life to found and discarded objects that are both rich in symbolism and texture. The underlying currents of themes such as silver linings, the art of healing, mythology/storytelling, dualities and the sacred ancestral nods are infused with Maida’s ritual-based practice that has been developed over decades. Eggshells, maple seedlings, coffee, antique papers, fibers and fractured glass are just a few of the materials encapsulated in these works. Amber will speak both about process and her practice as well as giving an insight into the wordless storytelling that stems from a background in a multitude of unspoken artforms.

Reservations are encouraged to attend in person as space is limited.
Please RSVP by contacting owner/director, Bianka at Souterrain gallery (located below The Wish House): #860.672.2969 or emailing: [email protected] or, the artist Amber Maida: #203.278.3434 or emailing: [email protected]
