4th and 5th Grade Code Makers Lab: Olde Tyme Arcade
Fourth and fifth grade students are invited to explore computer programming, local history, art, and game design in this new after school series hosted by the Gunn Memorial Library Makerspace and the Gunn Museum. Over the course of seven Fridays, participants will work in teams to craft video games based on objects from the Gunn Museum’s collections. The final games will be shared with the community as a part of the Olde Tyme Arcade at the Museum’s annual History Mystery event on November 7! Workshop activities will include researching at the Museum, creating storyboards, designing characters, and using the drag and drop coding language Scratch to bring their games to life.
Space is limited and registration is required. Please register your child for the whole series using the “Series Pass” option below.
Please note:
Snacks will be provided. Please indicate any allergies on the registration form.
The Library follows the Region 12 calendar and will not host After School Programs when WPS is closed or has early dismissal.
