Litchfield County in the American Revolution with Peter Vermilyea Lecture

As part of the Gunn Memorial Library and Museum’s America’s 250th Anniversary Series, the Library & Museum and the Hickory Stick Bookshop present a lecture with historian Peter Vermilyea.

Historian and author Peter Vermilyea will speak on his new book, “Litchfield County in the American Revolution”. In this illustrated and thought-provoking talk, Vermilyea examines the American Revolution through the experiences of Loyalists living in Litchfield County, Connecticut. By tracing the lives of two well-known figures alongside lesser-known, often forgotten individuals, the presentation reveals the personal dilemmas, divided loyalties, and local consequences of the Revolutionary War.
