Chamber Music Concert
Long River Concerts is looking forward to its upcoming concert on Sunday, May 5th, at 3pm, featuring Alissa Leiser, piano, and guest artist Natasha Brofsky, cello, a member of the award-winning Peabody Trio and on the faculty of The Juilliard School. The duo will perform Beethoven’s Cello and Piano Sonata in F Major, Op. 5, No. 1 and arrangements of two Liszt songs, including the famous Liebestraum. Ms. Brofsky will perform a piece for cello solo by Finnish composer Kaija Saariaho (1952-2023) called Dreaming Chaconne. It is a variation based on a Chaconne by Baroque Italian composer Giuseppe Colombi. Francois Poulenc’s Sonata for Cello and Piano concludes the program.
Tickets are $30 per person and can be found at https://www.longriverconcerts.org/concerts or purchased at the door. All concerts are held at Roxbury Congregational Church, 24 Church St, Roxbury CT and will include a brief historical and musical commentary for the audience before each piece.
