Puccini’s TOSCA on our Theater Screen
Join fellow opera lovers to view and discuss Puccini’s great opera Tosca in a production which has claims to be the best ever. This is the 2012 Royal Opera House production with Angela Giorghiou, Jonas Kaufman and Bryn Terfel, each of whom gave stunning performances. Georghiou was said to have combined the best of Callas and Montserrat Caballé and Kaufman is ‘simply magnificent, the voice of a god’ whilst Terfel as Scarpia gives a superb portrayal of that devious, unscrupulous character.
Running time is 2 hrs and there will be one short interval when coffee will be available.
We hope that this will be the first of regular monthly showings of great operas so please come with your friends and give us your views on works you would like to see in the future.
