Changing Tides: Paintings of the Sea
We are delighted to welcome our next art exhibit, “Changing Tides: Paintings of the Sea,” featuring works by Michael Chelminski, on view beginning Friday, August 11. This show will highlight Chelminski’s serene paintings of waterscapes inspired by the captivating coastlines of Maine and landscapes of the Litchfield Hills.
An opening reception will be held at the park on Saturday, August 12 from 4 to 6 pm.
Throughout his artistic career, Chelminski has developed an intimate connection with the beauty and power of the natural world. His artworks aim to convey the subtle interplay of light, color, and texture that characterizes the landscapes he paints. “Water landscapes particularly captivate me,” he explains, “for their fascinating ability to reflect and refract light in countless ways.” His paintings exude a sense of movement and fluidity, capturing the dynamic essence of the waters he depicts.
This exhibit runs through September 3.
