SLA Metal Sculpt has been creating Metal Sculptures for the past 8 years in local Goshen. Taking recycled scrap iron and creating sculptures that range from contemporary to rustic antique, animals to simplistic design, and small to large. Several local houses have an SLA original as no two pieces are the same. SLA has donated to Festival of Trees in Litchfield for the past few years and has a couple sculptures in the Tapping Reeve garden. Pictures can be seen on SLA Metal Sculpt on Facebook and Instagram. The performing arts hall of The Hotchkiss School was designed by and completed in 2005. With views of Lakeville’s Lake Wononscupomuc, the hall is home to the Hotchkiss Concert Series, hosting free classical concerts September through May. Guest artists have included The Fine Arts Quartet, Amerigo Trio, Nordic Voices, The Hartt Symphony Orchestra, and Midori. The hall is also home to Hotchkiss Summer Portals concerts, once again free and open to the public during June and July. Past guests have included Melvin Chen, Miró Quartet, Brentano Quartet, Ida Kavafian, and the Ying Quartet. This is a fabulous venue and the concerts are spectacular.
