WBCMF Chamber Concert Series, Arnaud Sussman with Andrew Armstrong

]Acclaimed musicians Arnaud Sussman and Andrew Armstrong will perform together on Sunday, September 25th, in the inaugural concert of the second season of the Chamber Concert Series, sponsored by the Woodbury-Bethlehem Community Music Foundation (WBCMF.) The concert will take place at 3:00 p.m., at the First Congregational Church, 214 Main Street South, in Woodbury, CT.

Mr. Sussman, winner of a 2009 Avery Fisher Career Grant, has distinguished himself with his unique sound, bravura, and profound musicianship. Minnesota’s Pioneer Press writes, “Sussman has an old-school sound reminiscent of what you’ll hear on vintage recordings by Jascha Heifetz or Fritz Kreisler, a rare combination of sweet and smooth that can hypnotize a listener.” A thrilling musician capturing the attention of classical critics and audiences around the world, he has recently appeared as a soloist with the Mariinsky Orchestra under Valery Gergiev, the Vancouver Symphony, and the New World Symphony.

Mr. Armstrong, an area favorite, will return to Woodbury for WBCMF’s second season. He has performed with such conductors as Peter Oundjian, Itzhak Perlman, Günther Herbig, Stefan Sanderling, Jean-Marie Zeitouni, and Stanislaw Skrowaczewski. He has appeared in solo recitals in chamber music concerts with the Elias, Alexander, American, and Manhattan String Quartets, and also as a member of the Caramoor Virtuosi, the Boston Chamber Music Society, Seattle Chamber Music Society, and the Jupiter Symphony Players. Andrew also serves as Artistic Director of Columbia Museum of Art’s Chamber Music on Main series in South Carolina and enters his third year as Director of the Music Camp at Wisconsin’s Green Lake Festival of Music.

It is with great excitement that the WBCMF welcomes Mr. Sussman and Mr. Armstrong to Woodbury. They will be sure to thrill all audience members with their talents and unique program as they kick off the 2022-2023 Chamber Concert Series season. Future concerts will include the Maskerade String Quartet on November 13, Konstantza Chernov on March 19, 2023, and Alexander Fiterstein with Andrew Armstrong on April 23, 2023. Tickets for all concerts are available at $30.00 each, and can be purchased on the website www.wbcmusicfoundation.org. When available, tickets will also be sold at the door on the day of each concert, at $35.00 per ticket. Season tickets are still available for purchase at $100.00 for all four concerts.
