Susan B. Anthony Project’s 5th annual Walk a Mile in Her Shoes

Susan B. Anthony Project’s 5th annual Walk a Mile in Her Shoes will return to the center of Litchfield on May 22, 2022, for its first in-person event since the Covid-19 pandemic forced a shift to a virtual format two years ago. The Walk is an annual fundraiser for Susan B. Anthony Project (SBAP), which provides crisis and support services to domestic and sexual violence victims in northwest Connecticut. During the Walk, men and boys lead the way on the road to end interpersonal violence by literally walking a mile in women’s high heeled shoes; however, all genders, ages, and abilities are welcome to participate, and the high heeled shoes are optional.

Registration for the Walk is available online at sbaproject.org/walkamile. While participants are encouraged to join in the excitement of the live event on May 22, options are still available for those who wish to take part virtually. Two registration levels are offered, both of which include use of the iconic red high heels, which Walkers can wear to walk an actual mile,
or simply for photo opportunities to raise awareness. Groups may also choose to host their own team walks at a day and place of their choosing, with assistance and support from SBAP staff.
