Horowitz Art Exhibition
From October 3rd to October 25th, the David M. Hunt Library will host “Modes of Travel,” an exhibition of artwork by Shaari Horowitz evoking pathways, journeys, and flights of fancy. The exhibition collects work from across the spectrum of the artist’s creative adventures including paintings, monoprints, travel tins, jewelry, and wood vessels. A reception for the artist will take place at the library on Saturday, October 5 from 4PM to 6PM.
In conjunction with the exhibition, a free painting workshop with Shaari Horowitz is scheduled for Saturday, October 19 from 10AM to Noon. Discover an intuitive painting technique using only your fingers, a few basic mark-making tools, oil paints, and your imagination. All supplies will be provided; guests should bring a painting shirt or smock. Interested participants should contact the library to register at 860-824-7424 or register online.
A full-time artist based in Sharon, CT, Shaari Horowitz received her BFA from Pratt Institute and began her career as a mural artist and decorative painter before collaborating with her husband, fine furniture maker Alistair Jones, to create, exhibit, and sell painted and gilded wood vessels at prominent craft shows nationwide. Now returning to her painting roots, Shaari is also exploring silversmithing and revisiting printmaking techniques.
