Basics of Online Security
Basics of Online Security: What to watch for, and what concrete steps you can take
Presented by Michael Jay of Personal Tech Support, and State Trooper Vicki Donohoe.
The adoption of personal technology has left many users with great unease about security threats. This entry-level, interactive presentation will discuss the basics of online security, and show real-world measures consumers can take to help reduce risks in their online world. We’ll explain several of the most common threats faced by consumers – including the fact that your main concern should be: yourself.
This is an in-depth working session, co-hosted by a tech consultant and a representative of law enforcement. You’ll see step-by-step instructions for actions you can take to help arm you against real-world scams. Please plan for a 90 minute Powerpoint presentation, followed by time for your questions for both presenters.
