Art @ The Park: Animal, Vegetable, Mineral by Nicole Alger

Join us in welcoming Nicole Alger and her exhibit, “Animal, Vegetable, Mineral.” Alger’s work will showcase realist paintings on wood, canvas, and other materials. Her exhibit will be on view Friday, July 8th through Monday, August 8th!

In her work, Alger highlights how rituals create meaning and a connection to the past. “Cultivating a relationship with our ancestors is an ancient practice that was woven into daily life long before my forebears arrived on these shores,” Alger said. “Sustenance meant more than animal, vegetable and mineral. A connection to the past was as invaluable as food. The rituals that mark the passage of human life were the very threads of our cultural fabric.”
